You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

You may not create more than one account, and you may not create an account if you have previously been banned from ChessDate. Each user is limited to one account per person.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in harmful behavior, or are inactive for extended periods.

ChessDate is a respectful community focused on meaningful connections through chess. You agree to treat all members with respect, kindness, and dignity.

You may not use our service to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, or intimidate other users. Any form of discriminatory language or behavior based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited.

You must not share personal contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles) in public messages or profiles. Use our built-in communication features for initial conversations.

Spam, commercial solicitation, and promotional content are not allowed. ChessDate is for personal connections and chess gameplay, not for business or advertising purposes.

You may not impersonate others, create fake profiles, or misrepresent your identity, age, or relationship status. Authenticity is fundamental to building trust in our community.

You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, messages, profile information), but you grant ChessDate a license to use, display, and distribute this content as necessary to provide our service.

You represent that you have the right to share all content you upload and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

You may not upload content that is obscene, offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate. All photos must be of yourself and appropriate for a dating platform.

ChessDate owns all intellectual property rights in our platform, including our matching algorithms, design, and proprietary technology. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer our service.

ChessDate provides chess gameplay features to facilitate connections between users. While we strive for accurate game mechanics, we do not guarantee perfect chess engine performance.

You agree to play chess fairly and not use external assistance, engines, or cheating tools during games. Fair play is essential to maintaining the integrity of our community.

Your chess rating and statistics are calculated based on your gameplay on our platform. We reserve the right to adjust ratings if we detect irregularities or suspicious behavior.

Chess-related features are provided 'as is' and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to gameplay features due to technical maintenance or other factors.

ChessDate offers both free and premium subscription services. Premium features are clearly marked and require payment to access.

Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law. You may cancel your subscription at any time, but you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your billing period.

We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle.

If payment fails or your subscription expires, you will lose access to premium features but can continue using free features of ChessDate.

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure. You acknowledge that you provide information at your own risk.

You have rights regarding your personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy, including the right to access, correct, or delete your information.

We may process your data to provide our service, improve our algorithms, ensure safety, and comply with legal obligations.

You may terminate your account at any time by following the account deletion process in your settings. Upon termination, we will delete your personal information as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these terms, engage in harmful behavior, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

Upon termination, your right to use ChessDate ceases immediately. Provisions regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution will survive termination.

If your account is terminated for violations, you may not create a new account without our express permission.

ChessDate is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will find romantic connections, that our service will be error-free, or that it will meet your specific needs.

We are not responsible for the conduct of other users, the accuracy of their profiles, or any interactions that occur between users whether online or offline.

Our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You agree to use ChessDate at your own risk and acknowledge that online interactions can never be completely guaranteed to be safe or authentic.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of ChessDate will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except where prohibited by law.

Before initiating arbitration, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes through our customer service team. Most issues can be resolved quickly through direct communication.

These terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
